Honey Fucking Dijon

Realized in collaboration with Comme des Garçons, Honey Fucking Dijon marks American DJ Honey Dijon’s fashion industry debut. Given the DJ’s decade-spanning omnipresence behind the decks of runway afterparties, Honey Dijon’s foray into apparel design is an intuitive next step in the fulfillment of her artistic vision. As a celebration of both Honey Dijon’s black queer identity and the musical subcultures that shaped her rise to eminence, the label’s output holds true to the unapologetic energy connoted in its expletive-ornamented name. Bold graphics and maxed-out colorways beckon a pivot away from electronic music’s sombre trappings, while the label’s pictogram-meets-monogram logo functions as a succinct visual synthesis of Honey Dijon’s icon status. Building on a foundation of staple graphic t-shirts, Honey Fucking Dijon innovates through the inclusion of DJ-minded leather accessories such as functional carrying cases and wallets fashioned with USB slots. Reverberating with the outré joviality of the disco and early house era, Honey Fucking Dijon is a wearable extension of the finger-flipping catharsis delivered by its lead designer’s live sets.
